CalTeach Berkeley places undergraduates in local K-12 STEM classrooms to support students, teachers and schools in our community, and to provide an opportunity for CalTeach students to gain skills and understanding for STEM teaching and learning. All field experiences are integrated into our coursework, during which responsibilities for teaching and learning grow developmentally over time. We partner with Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco and West Contra Costa Unified School Districts as well as several regional charter school systems. CalTeach undergraduates are frequently motivated to ‘give back’ to communities like the ones in which they received their own K-12 education.
