The following scholarships are from resources outside of the Cal Teach Program.

Golden State Teacher Grant Program

The Golden State Teacher Grant (GSTG) Program awards up to $20,000 to students currently enrolled in a professional preparation program approved by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and working towards earning their preliminary teaching or pupil personnel services credential.

Students must:

  • Complete their program and obtain their credential within 3 years from the first distribution of GSTG funds.
  • Commit to work at a priority school in California for 4 years within 8 years of completing their program.

The 2022-23 GSTG application is now open. We will continue to accept applications until March 31, 2023, or until all funds have been awarded, whichever occurs first.

Knowles Teaching Fellowship

Award amount: Five years of professional development from experienced educators and financial support for professional development, classroom materials and more...

The KSTF Teaching Fellowship is a five-year program divided into three phases, with each phase building on the next. During the program, Fellows will receive professional development from experienced educators and financial support for professional development, classroom materials and more. Applications are typically due at the end of November. For more information on eligibility and how to apply, please visit the Knowles Science Teaching Foundation website.

Barbara Lotze Scholarship for Future Teachers

Award amount: up to $2,000 per year for four years

The AAPT Executive Board offers this scholarship to undergraduate students planning to become high school physics teachers. For further details please visit the AAPT website.

AFCEA Educational Foundation Scholarship

Award amount: $5,000 per year

The AFCEA Educational Foundation Scholarship offers scholarships to students pursuing to teach STEM subjects at the secondary or middle school. For further details please visit the AFCEA page.
