Dan has been working in K-12 Math/Science education since 2011 as a teacher, instructional coach, and new-teacher trainer. He has a Masters in Bilingual/Bicultural Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a BA in Economics from Williams College. In addition to lecturing with Cal Teach, Dan works for an education non-profit and spends long hours biking through the sunny, rolling hills of the East Bay.
Dylan Bland is a passionate East Bay high school science teacher and Cal Teach instructor with an interest in hands-on, inquiry-based education strategies and student-centered learning. He hopes to help train the next generation of teachers with skills to make STEM education accessible for all students at all levels. Dylan is himself a product of the Cal Teach credential program, and was honored as Teacher of the Year in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District for 2020-21. Dylan has a B.A. and an M.A. in Earth & Planetary Science from UC Berkeley.
Karin is a CalTeach instructor and an elementary lead teacher. She has worked in both public and private schools for over 20 years. She has a deep commitment to STEAM education in the elementary classroom and finds inspiration in teaching and coaching the next generation of STEAM educators. Karin has a BA in elementary education and an MS in curriculum and instruction.
Diane is a public school educator of over 20 years, with experience as school principal, program coordinator, and classroom teacher. Diane is inspired by inquiry-based, experiential, student-centered learning.
In addition to being a STEM Education lecturer at Cal Teach, she is also the Director of Education and Social Impact for a performing arts organization in Oakland, CA.
